Primrose takes over Radio 2 for Children in Need
FAVOURITE songs chosen by patients, families and volunteers were played on Radio 2 after Primrose took over the station for Children in Need.
Primrose Hospice took part in the Radio 2 Children in Need takeover on Friday, November 15 with their song choices played out between 2pm and 3pm.
Listeners also heard from Jenni Luke and Sophie Kirkwood-Horne from the Children’s Team as well as Lauren Carpenter, who explained how Primrose Hospice supported her.
Lauren said: “I’ve been coming to Primrose Hospice for three years now. Since losing my parents the hospice have been an amazing support both to my family and to myself.
“They really do change lives.
“The services they give help so many people like myself to carry on after a loss or to cope with an illness and challenges life throws at us. They are fantastic and I couldn’t have coped without them.”
There was an eclectic choice of songs from Rod Stewart’s Sailing to Spice Girls 2 Become 1 as well as more modern hits from Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran.
Primrose Hospice was chosen as it received funding from Children in Need in 2018 to provide support for children and families living with a life-limiting illness, and to help them with bereavement of close family.
