Physiotherapy at Primrose Hospice is designed to help people living with a life-limiting illness stay as active, independent and comfortable as possible.
Our physiotherapist works with you to manage symptoms, improve movement, and support your overall wellbeing, helping you live as fully as you can.

Physiotherapy can support you to:

Our focus is on helping you achieve what matters most to you – whether that’s moving around your home more easily or continuing with activities you enjoy.
What to expect from Physiotherapy?
Your physiotherapy journey at Primrose Hospice will start with an assessment where we take time to understand your needs, goals and concerns.
From there, we will create a personalised plan that may include:
– One to one or group support
– Gentle exercises tailored to you
– Practical advice and techniques
– Support with daily activities
– Guidance for carers and family members
Sessions are adapted to your energy levels and comfort, you will always work at your own pace. Our Physiotherapist work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the hospice and community services, including family and carers where possible.
How to access our Physiotherapy:
To access our Physiotherapy support, you will need to make a referral. We are able to support patients who are registered with a Bromsgrove or Redditch GP.
You can refer yourself by completing our online referral form here or calling us directly: 01527 871051
You can also be referred by:
– Your GP
– Hospital consultant
– District nurse or healthcare professional
What happens next?
After we receive your referral:
– Our team will contact you to discuss your needs
– We will explain the support available
– You may be invited to meet a member of the team
– Together, we will agree whether physiotherapy is right for you
You will always have time to ask questions and decide at your own pace.

Is physiotherapy suitable if I am unwell?
We will always assess your health before carrying out physiotherapy sessions and if we feel you are too unwell at that time, we will re-arrange your session.
Do I need to be able to exercise?
No. Support can include gentle movements, advice, and symptom management.
Is physiotherapy painful?
No. Sessions are designed to be comfortable and supportive.
Is the service free?
Yes, all Primrose Hospice services are free of charge. If you would like to make a donation, please visit this page.
