My background is as a secondary school teacher for 36 years, now retired. I first became aware of Primrose Hospice and the services it offers when a close friend of mine was suffering from cancer. His final days were at the Primrose unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital where the care and support he received were outstanding. I was motivated to discover more about Primrose Hospice and I already knew one of the trustees.

I wanted to volunteer in order to help others, soon became more involved and was invited to apply for a position on the board.  Having now been a trustee for nearly three years I have learnt a great deal about the workings of Primrose Hospice and the variety of services it offers.  I enjoy my committee roles and also volunteering, which allows me to support and learn more about the hospice.”
