WhyFest 2019 will drum up support for Primrose
MUSIC fans young and old can enjoy an afternoon of live music and fundraising at the revamped Why Not Inn.
WhyFest 2019 will be taking place at the pub on The Ridgeway, Astwood Bank, Redditch on Saturday (July 27) from 1pm to 9pm.
The family-friendly festival will raise money for Primrose Hospice and will be headlined by Back in the Game, Insomniacs and Keep Me Posted.
Also performing will be Phil Barton, Xavier Reeves and Wychwood Folk Rock and there will also be an outside bar and barbecue.
Robbie Pert, from the Why Not Inn, explained why they chose to fundraise for Redditch’s local hospice.
He said: “We were keen on finding some local charities we could support with our events.
“As a community pub, we wanted to make sure the charities were local and part of the community we’re in.
“Primrose was the one that jumped out to us immediately. It is a great local charity that does fantastic work.”
Robbie explained that it would be a family-focused music festival with lots of local acts and performers.
Music lovers can enjoy the bands in the pub’s beautiful beer garden which has views across rolling countryside as well as order drinks and food from the outside bar.
Primrose Hospice, based in St Godwalds Road, Bromsgrove, must raise £1.75million annually to keep its services free for people with life-limited conditions and their families.
Sarah Harris, Primrose’s community fundraiser, said: “The Why Not Inn is a gorgeous location for a summer festival.
“What better way to enjoy the weekend than relaxing with some friends while listening to talented local performers and supporting your local hospice.
“Primrose Hospice is honoured to support its community in Redditch, Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas when they need us most.
“To do this, we must raise £1.75million and the majority of this has to come from our local community.
“That’s why we are so grateful to wonderful people such as the staff from Why Not Inn for organising fundraising events in aid of their local hospice.
“We hope everyone enjoys such a fantastic event – and don’t forget to tag us in your pictures on social media!”
WhyFest2019 will be running from 1pm to 9pm and people can just turn up throughout the day.
