Stoke Prior Bares all for charity calendar!

Earlier in 2022 a group of incredible supporters from Stoke Prior Village in Bromsgrove decided they wanted to fundraise for Primrose Hospice’s GALS Group.

After some thoughts they decided to create a “Calendar Girls” style calendar with all the profits to go to Primrose Hospice’s GALS Group.

We are incredibly pleased to say they have raised over £17,000! They had support from local businesses who sponsored the calendar and the photographs were taken by Julie King and Darren Shipman (who even modelled themselves too!).

Jo Wright, Volunteers’ Manager at Primrose Hospice who also facilitates the GALS group said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone that has supported this fantastic calendar and no words can ever express how grateful we are at Primrose Hospice. This will make such a difference to the activities that the Gals group are now able to do in the future.

Darren Shipman said: “The GALS Group are so excited to have received this amount of money from such a small village. They have big plans on how to spend it starting with a trip already planned to visit the theatre on December 29th. We would like to thank everyone involved including the sponsors for the calendar.”

The Primrose Hospice GALS Group is a non-clinical support group which is open and welcome to any women living with a life-limiting illness. The purpose of the group is to provide peer support in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The group meets on the last Friday of the month at 1030-1230 in our Garden Room.

With this funding the GALS group will now be able to go out on trips throughout the year, which will enhance their life and allow them to build friendships with people that may be in a similar situation to them.

The calendars are available from the Stoke Prior Store/Post office, The Butcheress, The Boat and Railway and Capelli. Alternatively you can message the team trough facebook: facebook.com/stokepriorcalendar or email Tracey at tracey.wolsey1@gmail.com
