Marion’s Marvellous Marmalade
When Marion told us she was entering a Marmalade making competition that would benefit Primrose Hospice, we were delighted!
The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards and Festival started in 2005 and has since gone on to raise over £250,000 for charities across the UK.
Marmalade makers are able to enter their home-made marmalade for an entry fee. Part of that fee is then donated to Hospice at Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland, and the maker is then able to nominate another charity to receive the rest of the entry fee.
Marion very kindly decided to nominate Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre to receive the donation as she knows the importance of our care. We have received a donation of £32 from the competition.
Marion said: “I’ve been making marmalade for over 30 years and I love the process of creating different flavours. When I saw the competition I thought, why not, and the fact that it supports charities like yourselves is great. I hope this inspires other people to enter next year and nominate Primrose Hospice.”
Every penny from the competition entry fee goes to charity as the competition is funded by sponsorship from Fortnum & Masons, Rathbones and Lycetts.
Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre offer care and advice to patients living with life-limiting conditions and families in North East Worcestershire.
As an independent charity, we rely on the support of individuals and businesses to help us to raise the £1.95 million we need each year to provide our services for free to our local community.
