‘St Godwald’s Retreat’ – Festival Success!

Did you visit the RHS Malvern Spring Festival?

If you did, we hope you had chance to visit the F.B. & Sons, Lawns & Landscapes, Show Garden ‘St Godwald’s Retreat’. The garden has been designed by Marc Harbourne-Bessant, for Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre.

We had the pleasure of being present at the Spring Festival across the four days, meaning we spoke to 1,000s of visitors about the garden and the importance of hospice care.

Listen to Marc and Darryl from F.B & Sons Lawns & Landscapes talking at the Malvern Spring Festival about ‘St Godwald’s Retreat:

Angélique Dalton, Chief Operating Officer said: This has been an absolute joy of a project due to the commitment and dedication of the FB & Sons team, together with the invaluable support of the staff and volunteers here at the hospice.  The pride felt at the RHS Malvern Spring Show will undoubtedly be replicated when the garden comes back to Primrose to be loved and treasured by our community.”

The garden was awarded a Bronze Medal from the judges at the festival. We’re sure you’ll agree a well-deserved recognition for the hard work, skill and thought put into the design.

David Burrell, Chief Executive Officer said: On behalf of everyone at Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Marc, Darryl and the entire team at F.B. & Sons, Lawns & Landscapes, for their passion and commitment in designing and building the garden, St Godwald’s Retreat, for the RHS Malvern Spring Festival.

The garden you created was not only visually stunning, but also emotionally profound. It brought to life the very essence of what we stand for at Primrose: Care, Compassion, and Community.”

We loved seeing the reaction from the public, from visitors who had travelled from over 130 miles away to visitors who live just down the road from the Hospice. Many people were visibly touched by the meaning behind the garden and it gave them a chance to reflect on their own experiences with Hospices.

Importantly, the festival gave us an opportunity to speak to many people about Primrose Hospice and educate the public about how hospices are funded.

We are now preparing for ‘St Godwald’s Retreat’ to make its way to Primrose Hospice, where it will find its forever home. It will become a legacy for so many patients, families, clients, children, volunteers and staff for years to come. We hope you’ll agree, F.B. & Sons have given us something that will make a difference every single day.

This has been a truly brilliant collaboration, and we are so proud of what we’ve achieved together. Thank you so much to the F.B. & Sons team for choosing us as partners in this wonderful project.

Keep an eye out on our social media and our event page here, later in the year to hear more about when the garden will be ready for visitors.
