London Marathon place up for grabs at Primrose Ball

A PLACE in the incredible London Marathon will be up for grabs in the silent auction at Primrose Hospice’s third annual ball.

The prize is just one of several ‘money can’t buy’ items which will be up for grabs during Primrose’s ball on Friday, September 27.

This year, the venue is the stunning Chateau Impney with guests invited to enjoy the theme ‘a night under the stars’.

While the entertainment and tempting menu are both currently under wraps, the hospice has revealed some of the silent auction prizes up for grabs.

Hayley Young, from Matchborough East, was one of the hospice’s London Marathon runners this year and explained what made the experience so special

“This is a fantastic chance to win a once in a lifetime experience and to tick it off your bucket list!

“From beginning to end the crowds’ support is amazing, shouting your name and making you feel like a rock star and you will have achieved something only 1 per cent of the population can claim to have done.

“The London Marathon is one of the highlights of my life so far and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

“Plus you are entitled to bragging rights for quite a few months after,” Hayley joked.

There is no expectation on the auction winner to further fundraise for Primrose Hospice – though every penny does help!

Tickets are already selling fast for this year’s ball priced at £65 per person or £650 for a table of ten.

There will be fabulous entertainment, a three course meal as well as a chance to support your local hospice.

Primrose Ball is one of the biggest events on the hospice’s fundraising calendar raising over £14,000 last year.

The money raised helps to keep Primrose Hospice’s services free for patients with life-limited conditions and their families living in north east Worcestershire.

To keep its services free, the hospice must raise £1.75million annually with about 85 per cent of this total having to be fundraised by the community.
