Could you give a shift for Primrose Hospice?
We have over 12 varied volunteer roles you could get involved with to give back to your local Hospice.
Jo Till, director of local business GTA Access Ltd, recently joined Primrose Hospice’s Board of Trustees and has spent many hours volunteering at our fundraising events.
She said: “I ‘Give a shift’ because I believe by volunteering my time and energy, I can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need and contribute to the well-being of my community.
It’s about recognising that even small actions can have a ripple effect, leading to meaningful impact and fostering a culture of compassion and support.”
“My favourite thing about volunteering is the sense of fulfilment it brings. There’s something special about knowing that you’ve made a difference in someone else’s life, even in the smallest of ways. Plus, volunteering often exposes me to new experiences and perspectives, broadening my horizons and enriching my own life in the process.”
Our volunteers at Primrose Hospice are vital, as without them we wouldn’t be able to keep their shops open, run their fundraising events and deliver their vital care and support.
“I believe other people should volunteer for Primrose Hospice because it provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. The hospice’s compassionate care and support services not only alleviate physical pain but also provide emotional and spiritual comfort to patients and their loved ones during challenging times.
By volunteering with Primrose Hospice, individuals can contribute to creating a warm and supportive environment where every person is valued and cared for with dignity and respect.”
Jo Wright, Volunteers’ Manager at Primrose Hospice said: “We are excited to launch our new campaign ‘I give a shift’ to encourage anyone who has been thinking about volunteering and is unsure of the commitment that may be required.
We would like to ask anyone interested in volunteering to contact us to chat as there are many different roles available from an hour a month to a weekly commitment, to once a year at events- we really do have a role for everyone. So why not enquire and become part of the Primrose Hospice team, we are ready to welcome you.”
