Celebrating Primrose Hospice Volunteers

The first week of June is Volunteers’ Week and Primrose Hospice is proud to recognise and thank the incredible individuals who give their time, dedication and compassion to support patients and families across our community.

With over 435 volunteers, they are a huge part of being able to deliver the Primrose Hospice services we offer. From welcoming visitors and supporting family support teams to working in our shops and providing transport, their contribution is seen across the entire hospice.

In the past year alone, volunteer drivers have travelled more than 32,500 miles, ensuring patients and clients can access the support they need. Primrose is also proud to support the next generation, with 48 students gaining valuable experience through volunteering.

Jo Wright, Volunteers’ Manager at Primrose Hospice, said:
“Our volunteers give so much more than time – they bring kindness and reassurance to every person they meet. Their impact is enormous, and we simply couldn’t provide the level of care we do without them. Volunteers’ Week is a chance for us to say a huge thank you for everything they do, each and every day.”

Primrose Hospice are always on the lookout for more people who can volunteer their time. Whether you can offer a listening ear, lend a helping hand, or bring a smile to someone’s face, you can make a real difference for your local hospice.

If you can help, apply online here or contact Jo Wright: 01527 871051 volunteering@primrosehospice.org.
