A Sea of Santa’s supporting Primrose Hospice

Where else would you see over 300 Santas on a Sunday morning? At Primrose Hospice’s annual Santa Fun Run of course!

On Sunday 4th December over 300 Santa’s descended on Arrow Valley Country Park in Redditch to kick off the festive season and support Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre.

Runners were joined by the big man himself and his festive helpers from Redditch Round Table, along with Flz Fit providing an energetic warm up. The Mayor of Redditch – Cllr Ann Isherwood threw herself into the festivities by joining in the warm up and officially starting both their 1k and 5k races.

Mayor of Redditch Cllr Ann Isherwood said: “Attending the Primrose Hospice Santa Fun Run was the perfect start to my Christmas Festivities. To see so many people on a Sunday morning all dressed as Father Christmas was magical. Families especially made an emotional impact upon me as most of these wonderful people had experienced the loss of someone they loved.

Fundraising for Primrose Hospice is a very small way of saying thank you to those who have cared for those with a life-limiting illness.  Without these funds the services would not be able to be provided so it is imperative that we support Primrose Hospice anyway we can.  Thank you for letting me part of a wonderful day!”

The Santa Fun Run has topped £10,000 with more donations to come from supporter’s sponsorship pages! The money raised is vital to help Primrose Hospice support more patients and families in North East Worcestershire.

Gabby, Fundraiser at Primrose Hospice said: “It was incredible to see so many members of our community coming out to support our Santa Fun Run. The sea of Santas was certainly an amazing sight and we are so grateful to all our participants, volunteers and entertainers who supported us on the day.”

There are many other ways you can support Primrose Hospice this Christmas. Why not get your tree collected through their Treecycle event in January or sign up to set yourself a fundraising challenge in 2023!
