Support Groups
Primrose Hospice recognises the importance of caring for not only our patients but those important to them. When someone becomes ill with a life limiting illness you may find yourself providing support and care.
It is easy to become overwhelmed both physically and emotionally with the demands that are made on you.
It is not unusual for carers to feel lonely, frustrated and even angry as life changes. Being able to share these feelings with others in a similar situation can be very helpful. Primrose run a bi-monthly carers’ group which is very relaxed and welcoming.
We have a range of specific support services for families, based within our Coppice Centre. This includes counselling and other talking therapies as well as practical and benefits advice. We also provide a range of complementary therapies that may be available to you. These are to provide some ‘time for you’ at a very stressful and challenging time for patients and their families.
We can also signpost you to other services available outside of Primrose that may be of benefit.
We run a variety of groups for people who are bereaved to ensure that individual needs are met. These may focus on support for families and friends around the death of a spouse, long term partner, child or significant person in their lives.
These may run as formal fixed term groups or informal peer support groups.
To access these groups please contact us where, if appropriate, you will be offered an assessment to see if we can help. For more information, contact our team:
