Lights of Love campaign 2019 launched

EVERYONE is invited to remember their loved ones during the Lights of Love campaign which launches for 2019.

Lights of Love provides a unique and special opportunity for people to come together at services in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Rubery.

People will be given the chance to dedicate a light to a loved one on special Christmas trees in the town as well as have their names included in special remembrance books.

Emma Williams, fundraising manager at Primrose Hospice, said: “Lights of Love is a very special campaign as it gives everyone an opportunity to remember a loved one.

“People are invited to dedicate a light to on one of our Christmas trees in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Rubery.

“Their names are then placed in remembrance books around our trees for family and friends to visit throughout the festive season.

“In return, we ask for a donation to Primrose Hospice, allowing the hospice to continue its vital work support patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families.

“Last year we were thrilled to raise over £37,000 which helped us to continue to offer our outstanding care and support free of charge to those that need it.”

People are invited to attend one of three remembrance services taking place across the county throughout November and December.

The Lights of Love services are being held at:

  • Bromsgrove Methodist Centre on Saturday, November 23 at 3.30pm followed by the blessing of the Bromsgrove Christmas Tree outside Asda at 5pm.
  • St Stephens Church, Redditch on Saturday, November 24 at 2pm.
  • Beacon Church Centre, Rubery on Sunday, December 1 at 4pm

This year, people are also invited to attend Carols by Candlelight at Primrose Hospice on Thursday, December 19 from 6pm.

During the Lights of Love campaign, people can make a named dedication that will be placed in a remembrance book around the Christmas trees which can be viewed at:

Bromsgrove

Placed around the Christmas tree outside Asda, Market Street and in Bromsgrove Methodist Centre and at Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors.

Redditch

Placed in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre beside our Christmas Tree and in Redditch Crematorium and also with Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors.

Rubery

This will be available from November 30 and will be placed on the information board by our Christmas Tree on the High Street.
