The Chairman and Trustees of Primrose Hospice are delighted to announce the appointment of David Burrell to the post of Chief Executive Officer at Primrose Hospice.

There was considerable interest in the post and Trustees, staff and volunteers took part in the selection process and are pleased to have made an appointment that they feel will be extremely successful for the Hospice.

David is currently working as Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust having had a long career as a Clinician and Senior Manager and Director in the NHS.

Rod Laight, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said "We believe that David's career has provided him with considerable skills and relevant experience which will make him an excellent leader for Primrose Hospice".

David said today "I am very proud to be offered the opportunity to lead Primrose, a charity that has an excellent reputation in the community, and I look forward to working with the staff, Trustees and many volunteers to ensure that the growing number of people who will need hospice care over next few years are able to access the high quality, compassionate care that Primrose provides." David will take up his new position on 2nd July.

Primrose Hospice needs to raise £1.75 million this year to continue to provide all of their vital services. All the care that the Hospice provides to patients, families and carers is free.
